This month's session is led by Madrid-based Chilean DJ and music producer, Matallas.
Strongly influenced by 90’s garage house rooted in jazz, disco, and funk, he signed with London-based Pogo House Records in 2023. Over 10 years as a DJ, he has played at key underground clubs in Chile, and since moving to Madrid, he's performed at iconic venues like Marula Club, Hangar 48, and Café Berlín. He has curated music for collectives such as Storm, Kommune, Promised Wax, Petao Sessions, Souloft and Malesta Sound. Currently, he's working on an EP with Burl Faircloth for US radio and label Anomalis.

Miles Davis had a hard time dealing with the hot temperature at the More Music, Less Words HQ, caused by the warm, atmospheric deep house tracks played that afternoon. Setting the mood of the session with a tune by the American funk and disco group B.T. Express, Matallas dives deep into house music produced by the likes of Jazzanova and Masters At Work. As the sun dipped lower, the irresistible rhythms kept Miles's interest alive, leaving him eager for more of Matallas's fine curations.
